Piano Lessons

We offer piano lessons for all ages and levels of experience.

Whether you are just starting piano lessons for the first time, continuing studies or returning to the keys as an adult, we have a teacher and program just for you!

Lessons are offered weekly during the annual session (Mondays through Saturdays), with a variety of enthusiastic and highly-qualified instructors to choose from.  Classes are one-on-one and catered to the student’s unique goals.

For students 4 to 7 years of age, we recommend (based on our experience) that they begin in our exclusive “Sing & Play!” program to build a musical foundation and help set a positive tone for private piano lessons when they are ready.

Beginners to advanced pianists, (including children graduating out of the Sing and Play! Program) have the choice of studying with one of our teachers in a course of study determined by previous experience, interests and goals.  Typical courses of study would be:

* Royal Conservatory, with or without exams (classical-based)
* Christopher Norton series (introduction to blues, jazz piano methods and world rhythms)
* Contemporary studies, including radio hits, pop and rock standards
* Chord-based playing, learning to improvise and ‘playing by ear’

We do not believe that piano lessons should be taught on electronic keyboards as students miss out on learning about the full touch and resonance of a real piano.  All  piano lessons at Bel Canto School of Music are taught on real pianos, Kawai uprights or August Hoffman grand pianos.

All of our pianos are supplied by: Case Van Geest House of Pianos
